The natural conclusion to Glowing and Growing is Going. This means we want to share our faith with others. We have a desire for people to know the Savior and to experience the grace that only He can bring. When we reach this place in our walk with Christ we have become a G3 believer. This brings us to the fullness of God’s plan for our life; to know Him and to make Him known. Here are some ways you can live out the desire to Go at Arlington Baptist Church: Personal Evangelism: The call to share our faith on a personal level came from Christ Himself. Jesus told the disciples and some 500 people just before His ascension, “And you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.” There is a call for us to tell others what Jesus has done for us. Corporate Outreach: At Arlington Baptist Church we have a corporate outreach plan called GO Visitation. We have two teams, the G and O teams, and they each go out one Sunday a month. During this time we make home visits, phone calls, send cards and letters, and welcome new residents into our community. This is an opportunity for us to practice evangelism in our corporate fellowship. Missional Ministries: There are times in outreach that a kind deed must come alongside the Good News. Missional Ministry is the work of linking good deeds and the Good News. Our church has a number of opportunities in this area. In most cases we organize these efforts through our Sunday School classes. I invite you to get involved. Join a class and join a ministry becoming the hands and feet of our Savior as we reach out to our community. In Service Ministries: It is also important that ministries within the church are well supported. We cannot move outward if we are not strong inward. In service ministries, while they focus on the body of Christ, are still important outreach tools. We know this because they often result in people coming to Christ. These ministries include teaching or supporting a class through being an outreach or prayer leader. They are also seen as adults invest in the next generation through working with our preschool, children, or youth ministries. We even see them as God leads people to work with one of our crucial ministry teams such as guest services, hospitality, finances, or personnel. These functions are often unseen but are important to the life and vitality of this church and to people coming to know the love of Christ. Conclusion: It is the goal of this church that every believer would Glow through Christ, would Grow in Christ, and would Go for Christ. This is God’s purpose for your life, and this is where you will find the fullness of your faith and the joy of your heart. This is the journey to which Christ calls us. Only as we know Jesus and are faithful to His purpose are we truly everything we can be for God. I pray that you will accept this challenge to be a G3 believer, and to discover life’s purpose here at Arlington Baptist Church.
